How To Combat Cold/Flu Season

January is right in the middle of cold and flu season. The holidays are over and we all are probably running on fumes so here are a few tips on how to take care of yourself during cold/flu season.

  • Get plenty of rest!

  • Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate.

  • WASH YOUR HANDS

  • Keep your work areas clean (i.e. using Lysol or other cleaners to cut down on the spread of germs)

  • Vitamins are extra important during this time. May need to increase your vitamin intake.

  • Get your flu shot

  • There are several over the counter remedies for the common cold (NOT the flu). Examples: NyQuil, ColdCalm, and using a NetiPot for congestion.

If you think you may have the flu or have been exposed to the flu try to get to your doctor or a walk-in clinic as soon as possible. Remember to WASH YOUR HANDS, get plenty of rest and keep your work area as clean as possible!

Wishing everyone a safe, healthy, and HAPPY 2019!!
